This plug is the biggest bang for your buck. It has its own app that works with all platforms and is plug-and-play with Alexa and Google Assistant but not iHome. You can tweak it to make it work with iHome though - I’ve linked to how to do it below.

This one is both a smart plug and a power meter, meaning you can use it to monitor your power draw like I did to figure out which of my electronics were using power when they were off. It works with iHome.
